Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can only the big corporate hospitals go for NABH Accreditation?
Ans: NABH has various Accreditation standards for all kinds of set up. Smaller hospital can go for Entry Level Accreditation in the SHCO category.
There are Accreditation schemes for Polyclinics, Dental set , Eye clinics, wellness centres, AYUSH centres and many more!
The primary role of any accreditation standard is to provide effective means to assuring that the customer (patient) requirements are met fully.

2) We are very busy in managing the hospital and in the treatment of the patients. We can't give time for the NABH Accreditation?
Ans: The doctor/Management do not have to devote any time for this. You just have to appoint us your consultant and we will prepare your complete road map for the accreditation process.

3) Will there be any distinct changes in my hospital after implementing NABH standards?
Ans: For organization , after Implementing the ISO Standards , the changes will be very distinct in terms of quality on following parameters -patient's safety, staff behavior toward the patients, correct and timely treatment, compliance to treatment protocols, seeking patient feedback, adequate response to it, complete record keeping, acceptable quality care at affordable prices, clear communication to the patients with respect to the services, best practices for fixing appointment and service delivery, reliable diagnostic and laboratory support, reliable support services like canteen, ambulance, pharmacy, etc. safe and pleasant environment, technical competence, courtesy, and attitude of staff.

4) What is your SOP in getting the accreditation?
Ans: We at Ananya Consultants have a very simple and systematic approach towards getting the NABH ENTRY LEVEL accreditation done for our consulting hospitals.
Once a hospital agrees and appoints us as their NABH consultant, then our process approach is in the following way:

WEEK# 1 to 10

  • Our TEAM members will visits the hospital and take a note of your working SOP. The complete hospital is visited (including the ICU, OT etc). Documentation process is observed and compared with the NABH standard requirements. This forms the part of GAP ANALYSIS.
  • Then a detailed report of the GAP ANALYSIS is prepared and presented to the hospital. The GAP ANALYSIS REPORT is nothing but the GAP between your current Standard way of functioning SOP VIS-A VIS the requirement as per NABH Standards.
  • The Detail of the GAP ANALYSIS is discussed with the Management/ QM and how the necessary steps are to be taken are guided by us.
  • We will provide you all the formats of the documents as per the NABH requirements.
  • A QUALITY MANAGER is identified within the organization by the management who will be our main point of co-ordination on the day to day basis.
  • The Quality Manager(QM) and other important staff are briefed and sensitized towards the Importance and significance of NABH ACCREDITATION.
  • DIFFERENT COMMITTEES are formed like Safety committee, HIC committee etc as per the standard.
  • Your Hospitals working Manual with all the SOP of all important departments are prepared by us and given to the management for a review.
  • Once the Scope & SOP is approved by the management then the HOSPITAL MANUAL is ready for implementation in complete sense.
  • Training sessions of the different chapters are given to the concerned staff/department.
  • Application is filed at NABH for the ENTRY LEVEL ACCREDITATION with the necessary documentations.
